HYPNOSIS PROGRAM FOR SUCCESSFUL WEIGHT LOSS
Over the years, numerous studies have been done which prove hypnosis to be an effective way for both adults and children to achieve and maintain ideal weight, shape and size. Hypnosis for weight loss is intended to help clients change their attitude about food and exercise, so the cravings stop, fullness comes more quickly, emotions cease to trigger the appetite, etc.
WEIGHT LOSS & EXERCISE MOTIVATION
Our weight loss program helps you change your eating habits by changing your attitude about food and exercise. Unlike diets involving deprivation, hypnosis techniques help you change the way you think. Foods you need to avoid are not longer appealing, and you become more attracted to good, nutritious, lower-fat, lower-calorie foods.
THE WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM INCLUDES 3 SESSIONS
(To encourage optimum results) *
Package of three weekly visits: $375
All of the sessions are recorded and a CD is provided to listen at home to reinforce the weight loss sessions. As far as we know we are the only hypnotherapy clinic in the area that provides free custom recordings of all hypnosis sessions. These recordings make the hypnosis much more powerful and effective.
Research shows that hypnosis can be an effective method to:
Change eating habits
Increase self-confidence & self-esteem
Minimize mental blocks
Establish a positive, winning attitude
For best results the hypnosis client must:
Have the desire to make changes
Continue with reinforcement sessions until ideal weight, shape & size achieved
Use a self-hypnosis recording twice daily throughout the program
Communicate openly with the hypnotists so that all contributing factors are addressed
Follow hypnotist’s recommendations after each visit. This may include visualization techniques, keeping a temporary food log etc.
DIETS DO NOT WORK
They make you feel deprived. Diets begin and they end, so they are not a long-term solution to weight control.
Two things are important: what you put into your body and how much fat you burn. Hypnosis can help you gain control by helping you to desire the foods that are fresh, clean, and nutritionally valuable.
You can also address emotional eating and begin to separate emotional hunger from physical hunger. If you get off track for a day or so, you can easily get back on track so that you do not put the weight back on.
Weight loss sessions are customized to your specific needs. Suggestions may include: eliminating non-healthy snacking, becoming full on smaller portions, and eliminating emotional eating due to stress, boredom or anger. If you are following a specific diet, suggestions include staying within your diet guidelines. Suggestions for a good self-image, self-confidence and exercise motivation may also be included in your session.
STRESS, HORMONES, AND WEIGHT GAIN
Most people admit that when they're under stress, healthy eating habits can be difficult to maintain. Whether eating to fill an emotional need or grabbing fast food simply because there's no time to prepare something healthy, a stressed-out lifestyle is rarely a healthy one. But weight gain when under stress may also be at least partly due to the body's system of hormonal checks and balances, which can actually promote weight gain when you're stressed out, according to some researchers.
Cortisol is a critical hormone with many actions in the body. Normally, cortisol is secreted by the adrenal glands important for the maintenance of blood pressure as well as the provision of energy for the body. Cortisol stimulates fat and carbohydrate metabolism for fast energy, and stimulates insulin release and maintenance of blood sugar levels. The end result of these actions can be an increase in appetite.
Cortisol has been termed the "stress hormone" because excess cortisol is secreted during times of physical or psychological stress, and the normal pattern of cortisol secretion (with levels highest in the early morning and lowest at night) can be altered. This disruption of cortisol secretion may not only promote weight gain, but it can also affect where you put on the weight. Some studies have shown that stress and elevated cortisol tend to cause fat deposition in the abdominal area rather than in the hips. This fat deposition has been referred to as "toxic fat" since abdominal fat deposition is strongly correlated with the development of cardiovascular disease including heart attacks and strokes.
Stress is certainly not the only reason having for abnormal levels of cortisol.
Weight gain or loss is dependent on a number of factors including resting metabolic rate, food intake, amount of exercise, and even the types of food consumed and the times of day food is consumed. Genetic factors also likely influence our metabolism and may explain some people's tendency to gain or lose weight more rapidly than others.
Whether or not a particular individual's stress levels will result in high cortisol levels and weight gain is not readily predictable. The amount of cortisol secreted in response to stress can vary among individuals, with some persons being innately more "reactive" to stressful events. Studies of women who tended to react to stress with high levels of cortisol secretion have shown that these women also tended to eat more when under stress than women who secreted less cortisol.
In fact, exercise is the best method for lowering cortisol levels that have risen in response to stress and has the added benefit of burning calories to stimulate weight loss.
